Region of Durham Outreach Community Hub

Oshawa Public Libraries is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Region of Durham to establish an Outreach Community Hub at two of its four branches. The new initiative is being introduced in association with the Healthy Communities initiative. 

Beginning the week of August 11, 2021, the Northview Library Branch will have an Ontario Works Outreach Worker onsite for weekly visits to connect community residents to various social services supports and resources, including financial resources, housing, food security, counselling, Children's Services referrals, and more. The Outreach Worker can communicate with community agencies on behalf of clients, assist with online government application forms, and help them navigate the system. 

No appointment will be necessary. 

The Outreach Worker will be available weekly as follows: 

Northview Branch

Wednesdays, 10 am - 3 pm starting August 11.

Jess Hann Branch

Thursdays, 10 am - 3 pm starting September 16.
